Lineker apologises to the English league as he names Harry Kane replacement at Tottenham

Gary Lineker apologizes to Premier League club as he names Harry Kane as Tottenham replacementHe himself wore the Tottenham shirt once and knows where the goal is. Gary Lineker is therefore well enough qualified to understand the type of player who could successfully replace Harry Kane. The former Spurs talisman made his Bayern Munich debut on Saturday night, ending one of the transfer sagas of the summer.

As difficult as Kane’s decision is for Tottenham staff and fans, it means north Londoners can move on and not have to constantly wonder about the England striker. However, Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy will need to find replacements for Kane quickly and with three weeks left before the current timeslot there is still plenty of time to bring someone in.Lineker, who is never shy about speaking his mind, tweeted that Brighton and Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson should be the replacement. He also apologized to the Seagulls in the aftermath, although that will hardly save him from heavy criticism from Brighton fans, who have already seen Alexis Mac Allister leave and Moises Caicedo set to join Chelsea for a British record.Ferguson would be a reasonably reasonable swap on a like-for-like basis and is indeed not the worst Lineker call-up in the world, but Tottenham will certainly consider plenty of other names in the coming days.
