CHELSEA NOW DISCUSSING SWAP DEAL FOR ‘RAPID TOTTENHAM TARGET
Chelsea are now looking to snap up Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson with a swap deal being discussed.
Tottenham Hotspur could miss out on Brennan Johnson with Chelsea now discussing an exchange deal for the Nottingham Forest star.
That is according to a report from The Guardian, who claim that Chelsea have started discussions over a move for Johnson.
The Blues were expecting to sign Michael Olise but he has instead signed a new contract with Crystal Palace.
That means Chelsea must turn their attentions elsewhere and they seem to be focusing on Forest ace Johnson.
It’s claimed that discussions over a deal are now underway with Chelsea even talking about a swap deal.
No names are given but Chelsea seem open to sending players to Forest in part-exchange for Johnson, attempting to bring the asking price down.
Forest have been linked with the likes of Ian Maatsen, Trevoh Chalobah and Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer so maybe they will be on the table.

Forest allegedly value Johnson at around £45million, a fee both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are trying to work around.
The Telegraph reported earlier this month that Tottenham would like to engineer a part-exchange deal for Johnson.
Defender Joe Rodon, wing back Djed Spence and winger Bryan Gil were mentioned as potential makeweights.
Rodon has since joined Leeds United but Spence – a former Forest favourite – and Gil remain available.

Tottenham have cash to spend after selling Harry Kane and may well look to invest in Johnson – but are trying to spend players in the other direction.
Chelsea are now trying to same approach, no doubt hoping that their players are more appealing to Forest than Tottenham’s.
Johnson – hailed as ‘very rapid’ by Wales boss Rob Page – isn’t the finished product but he does have huge promise for the coming years.
Johnson fits the direction in which Chelsea and Spurs are going, but the winner of this transfer race is anybody’s guess
