Tottenham prepare to sign Juventus star Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to sign Juventus star Gleison Bremer in the upcoming transfer window, Spanish media outlet Fichajes reports.After struggling with a faltering defense last season, Spurs placed emphasis on strengthening the defense in the recently concluded summer window.Ange Postecoglou’s side have bought Micky van de Ven from VfL Wolfsburg for £43million, but it has been suggested the Australian coach wants to sign another defender before the deadline.

Thenorth London club have been linked with numerous defenders, including Lloyd Kelly and Edmond Tapsoba. But they failed to sign anyone before the window abruptly closed. However, it is evident that Tottenham are out of options at the central defender position as they currently have no one other than Van de Ven and Cristian Romero. Eric Dier is still on Tottenham’s book, but he does not appear to be part of Postecoglou’s long-term plans as he has not featured for Spurs so far this season.Bremen to TottenhamIt is therefore suspected that Tottenham have realized they lack depth at the back, which is why they plan to strengthen their defense in the January window. According to Fichajes’ report, Tottenham have now identified Bremer as a serious target and are prepared to spend around £34m to secure his services.However, the report claims that other top European clubs are also interested in signing the Brazilian. Tottenham will therefore want to act quickly and sign the player as quickly as possible to beat these clubs in this race. the 26-year-old has established himself as an integral part of Massimiliano Allegri’s starting eleven in recent times.Bremer, at 6-foot tall, is a solid defender, plays comfortably from behind and is excellent at defensive contributions. So the Brazilian has the qualities needed to thrive in the Premier League and could be a great signing for Spurs if they decide to sign him.However, it will be interesting to see if Postecoglou’s side ultimately decide to make a concrete move to sign Bremer in the next transfer window to strengthen their defence.
