After a video of the Springboks “ignoring” the Kaizer Chiefs’ guard of honor at the FNB stadium on Thursday surfaced, social media users couldn’t stop laughing.

After winning the Webb Ellis Cup for the fourth time in their history, the Boks have started a national trophy tour.

The trip commenced on Thursday in Pretoria and will go through Sunday.

Thousands of fans greeted the Springboks as they wrapped up their Gauteng trip on Thursday at the FNB Stadium.

The FNB stadium hosted the Springboks.

The players from Kaizer Chiefs gave the champions a guard of honor as they emerged from the tunnel, but the Glamour Boys received neither a handshake nor any recognition. Social media users laughed when the players rushed onto the field to meet the fans as soon as the video became viral.

Springboks continue their trophy tour this weekend

Even soccer enthusiasts will have trouble naming the current starting eleven for Kaizer Chiefs, who have been in the losing league for close to ten years. It’s doubtful that the Springbok players will recognize any of the Chiefs stars if supporters are unable to identify the majority of the team’s players.

“Until I read your quote, I had no idea they were chief’s players there,” tweeted @Dominic27i.
