Sayfie and Broome talked on how uncommon it is for a Michigan offensive lineman to receive unanimous All-America recognition, like Zinter did.

The North Andover, Massachusetts, native joins senior running back Blake Corum (2022), Aidan Hutchinson (2021), and Jabrill Peppers (2016) as Michigan’s 26th consecutive unanimous All-American and the fourth during head coach Jim Harbaugh’s tenure. For the first time since a four-year period from 1988–91, the Wolverines have had three consecutive seasons of unanimous All-Americans: wide receiver Desmond Howard (1991), defensive back Tipp Welbourne (1989–90), and defensive lineman Mark Messner (1988).

Sayfie remarked, “One, it’s a huge accomplishment for a Michigan offensive lineman, and two, they’ve had this dominant type of player every year for the last three.” “And Zinter receives this award, along with top 10 finishers in the Heisman Trophy vote for junior quarterback J.J. McCarthy and senior running back Blake Corum. So, you have some starpower on the Michigan Wolverines teams, and you kind of need that if you’re going to make it this far over the last few years.”
