Even though Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are currently in last place in the fiercely competitive AFC North division standings with a 7-7 record, they are still in the running for the playoffs and could be able to seal their ticket to the postseason in the final three regular season games. The team has lost three straight games.

Despite the possibility of making the NFL playoffs this year, the Steelers’ 2023 season has been, to put it mildly, disappointing. The team’s offensive line has been its biggest source of frustration.

The Steelers fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada earlier in the season due to the team’s offensive shortcomings, but that didn’t exactly resolve their offensive problems. As a result, the team will be searching for a significant upgrade at the head coaching position in the offseason.

Marcus Spears of ESPN recently said that if Eric Bieniemy leaves the Washington Commanders after the season, the Steelers should pursue him.

During his tenure with the venerable Kansas City Chiefs, Bieniemy is well-known for having assisted in leading the team to two Super Bowl victories. He also received a great deal of credit for the accomplishments of the team’s potent attack, which was headed by quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The Chiefs offensive has changed since Bieniemy left, but he was unable to save the Commanders, who are on the verge of yet another disastrous season finale.

If Bieniemy and Tomlin are compatible, the Steelers will have a compelling opportunity, and Pittsburgh should be a desirable location.
