The Bengals LT spoke about being on the other side of the rivalry.

Cincinnati Bengals left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. played in his first matchup against his old team when the Bengals fell to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

After facing the Bengals five times as a Chief, he lined up against Kansas City with plenty on the line.

Brown’s first season in Cincinnati certainly hasn’t gone as he would have hoped. Dealing with his own injury issues, losing his franchise quarterback in Joe Burrow, and missing the postseason certainly isn’t what he expected when he switched sides.

Even so, Brown says he doesn’t regret his decision.

“I wouldn’t rather play for any other organization in this league,” Brown told reporters following Sunday’s 25-17 loss at Kansas City. “This organization, man, it’s gonna fight. It’s got a ton of character. You know, it’s got a ton of will, and man, I’m happy to be on this side of things. We came up short today, but as I say, that’s football. It’s a lot of ups and downs in this game and that’s the beauty of it. You know you live to fight another day, to fight another year.”

Brown’s play on the field has been a bit of a roller coaster as well. Currently graded at 63.9 per Pro Football Focus, he is trending toward his worst season-long grade since his rookie campaign in 2018.

The Bengals paid Brown the largest signing bonus in their history when they inked his deal in March, so they will look for more from their cornerstone left tackle in 2024.
