Rodgers gives unconvincing reply to transfer issue
After another insipid performance, this time at home to Ross County, the transfer market was almost forgotten by Celtic fans.
Going into the January window there was an expectation that a couple of new arrivals could add energy and excitement to the team. With only another winger in Nicolas Kuhn added to the squad so far virtually nothing has changed since the transfer window ‘swung open’.
There was plenty to digest yesterday from a dodgy pitch, two missed penalties and an underwhelming performance that pushed transfer activity down the post-match agenda.
Listening in to Rodgers’ post match interview on Radio Scotland touching on transfer activity, the Herald reports the Celtic boss saying:
Unless I am a mind reader and can read what people are thinking or doing while I am concentrating on a game, I have no answers for you.
Celtic have until midnight on Thursday to conclude any transfer activity, after losing to Lazio in November Rodgers made it very obvious that he was in need of additional quality.
Signing Sydney van Hooijdonk on loan from Bologna seems to be the only live speculation about a new signing with hoops fans anxious to see change and improvements over the five remaining days of the transfer window.
