Joe Milton III of Tennessee, Bradley Carter of South Alabama, Michael Pratt of Tulane, and—most intriguing of all—Spencer Rattler of South Carolina are among the members of this group.

According to Erick Trickel of SI, “Rattler and Pratt are viewed as the two better prospects on the American roster.” Rattler had all the necessary skills to be a reliable NFL starter, but questions about his temperament and attitude have dogged him for a long time.

When Rattler informed people that he was missing games because of an MCL injury in high school, that is when his “attitude and character” problems began. But in the end, the QB revealed that he had been declared ineligible (not suspended).

Rattler hasn’t been suspended while in college, but he transferred to South Carolina after things under Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma eventually didn’t work out for him.

But in 48 games over the course of five college football seasons, he has produced respectable stats. Rattler has completed 68.5 percent of his passes for 10,807 yards, 77 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions.

Rattler was Featured in a Netflix Docuseries

If you recognize the name Spencer Rattler, it’s possible that you saw the Netflix documentary “QB1: Beyond the Lights.”

According to USA Today, Rattler, a highly-regarded talent at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona, broke the state throwing record on his 18th birthday with 10,489 yards. ESPN’s college football recruiting rankings for 2019 rate him as the top dual-threat quarterback in the nation and the 29th best prospect overall.

Rattler made an appearance in the third of the show’s four seasons, which are likely the least successful ones to date under Pete Berg’s direction.

The Tulane signal-caller finished the last two seasons with a completion percentage of over 63% and scored 90 touchdowns to 26 interceptions for the Green Wave. Sean Payton, the head coach, ought to enjoy this quarterback.

These players are all probably picks on Day 3. The National Team has greater strength and recognition in the marketplace. Bo Nix of Oregon, Sam Hartman of Notre Dame, and Michael Penix Jr. of Washington are on this roster.

Penix and Nix are the two players that have the potential to sneak into the first round. Penix may also be a viable option for the Broncos at No. 12 if his medical clearance at the NFL Combine is satisfactory.
