BREAKING:Predicting When Blue Jays Top Prospects Ricky Tiedemann Will Debut In The Big League

With the arrival of pitchers and catchers in Dunedin a week ago, Ricky Tiedemann, the top prospect for the Blue Jays, has generated significant hype.

was worth the hype while healthy, but last season’s biceps ailment limited him to just 44 innings. He spent the majority of the season in double-A, where he pitched for the Fisher Cats, recording a 5.06 ERA and 16.8 strikeouts per nine innings.

Due to his limited playing time during the regular season, the top prospect spent the final months of the season getting some experience in the Arizona Fall League. In the AFL, Tiedemann made four starts, gave up just 12 hits, five earned runs, and 23 strikeouts while winning Pitcher of the Year.

Anticipate the year 2024 to see Ricky Tiedmann make his Blue Jays debut

This Saturday, in the Blue Jays’ opening spring training game of the season against the Philadelphia Phillies, Tiedemann is supposedly scheduled to take the mound. Tiedemann’s value might rise even higher after an outstanding spring performance, which would pressure the Blue Jays to bring him up to the major leagues as soon as possible for the next season.

Given that Tiedemann’s arm has only produced 122 2/3 innings since 2022, it is probably reasonable to conclude that his chances of making the Opening Day roster are slim, especially given that he has only made one start at triple-A.

The southpaw said to Jon Morosi that he was unaware of an innings cap for the forthcoming season but that they would probably keep an eye on his workload this year—a reasonable precaution given how much time he missed in 2023. Unless Alek Manoah has another meltdown a la last season, the Blue Jays rotation for 2024 is pretty much set, therefore it’s likely, if not certain, that Tiedemann will begin the season in triple-A.
