A Portland woman was killed Tuesday morning when her SUV crossed the center line of U.S. 27 and collided head-on with a semi-tractor trailer north of Winchester.

 

Lindsay M. Wenk, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene by Randolph County Coroner Tim Crawford.

 

According to Randolph County Sheriff Ken Hendrickson, Wenk’s 2002 Envoy was northbound on the federal highway south of Randolph County Road 225-N when it collided with a southbound semi driven by Marcus D. Love, 40, Decatur.

 

Wenk was not wearing a seat belt, according to a press release issued by the sheriff. The accident was reported to emergency dispatchers at 7:35 a.m.
