BREAKING:Will The 49ers Make A Splashy Move This Offseason

Will This Offseason’s Move By The 49ers Be Dramatic?

In theory, there isn’t much the 49ers need to accomplish this offseason. They were only one play away from being champions, but they lost the Super Bowl by three points in overtime. And even though they haven’t shown it yet, they still think they are the best team in the NFL.

However, the 49ers don’t tend to do nothing. They usually make at least one major change a year.

Recall that they signed Kwon Alexander, dealt for Trent Williams, traded for Christian McCaffrey, signed Javon Hargrave, signed Christian McCaffrey, traded for Chase Young, and traded for Dee Ford.

Why would they suddenly stop pulling off flashy moves?

They have one more year left on Brock Purdy’s incredibly cheap rookie contract; this is their chance. Their best chance to win a Super Bowl in a long time will come next season, therefore they must seize it.

The 49ers might aim to hurt the Chiefs, the one club standing in their way, by acquiring their shutdown cornerback L’Jarius Snead in a trade if they want to make a huge, bold move in the coming weeks. The Chiefs have decided not to extend his deal, thus they have granted him authority to pursue a trade along with the franchise tag. Additionally, the 49ers have proven (see Ford and Ward) that they enjoy acquiring former Chiefs players.
