JUSTIN:Another Blow For Todd Boehly As Chelsea Could Be Forced To Pay Record £4.25m For 14- Years-Old
Todd Boehly faces yet another setback as Chelsea may have to pay a record £4.25 million for the 14-year-old
Throughout Todd Boehly’s time at Chelsea, there have been numerous instances where his transfer window operations have been at best disorganized.
The British record purchases have come after several departures, but the Blues are still middling in the Premier League’s midtable.
It appears as though the American transferred his business strategy from his past ventures to the Stamford Bridge organization with the expectation of receiving the same outcome.
That has rapidly been shown to be untrue, and it will be interesting to watch what stance the Blues owner takes as we approach another transfer window.
Chelsea was also recently informed that they would have to pay up to £4.25 million for Shumaira Mheuka, a 16-year-old from Brighton and Hove Albion who really registered for the team as a 14-year-old.
According to Football Insider, a tribunal decided on a basic fee of £1,000,000 that must be paid for the player’s transfer two years ago. The player owes £250,000 upon signing a professional contract, an additional £250,000 upon making his Chelsea debut, and an additional £250,000 upon making his England team debut.
Boehly’s problems don’t stop there, as the Seagulls have a sell-on clause worth up to 25% and there is still an additional £2.5 million to pay if a variety of other conditions are fulfilled.
The American certainly seems to have more money than common judgment, but eventually the show must end and he must become serious.
