Ange Postecoglou press conference -Tottenham agree to pay €15m bid for a young star….
The Tottenham Hotspur head coach is speaking to reporters on Friday ahead of the Premier League match against Luton
defeat at Fulham behind them and they will have to go from two weeks without a Premier League match to two within three days as after welcoming Luton to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday they then travel to Stratford to take on West Ham on Tuesday night.
At his press conference Postecoglou will deliver an update on the latest injury news, including Micky van de Ven’s progress in his recovery from his hamstring injury and he will also speak about the physical state of those returning from international duty. That could include Richarlison, who did not play a single minute for Brazil which might suggest he is still feeling some lingering after effects from the knee injury he suffered a month ago.
Our Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold is among those putting the questions to Postecoglou. Scroll down for his latest updates from the press conference at Hotspur Way.

The Australian on Bentancur playing with a broken toe
Yeah, broken small toe. He has got nine others. You know, I don’t think anyone could question Rodrigo’s courage with what he’s had to deal with recently. He didn’t want to stop playing, the medical advice was he could keep playing so he has still been training and playing. He hasn’t missed a session as far as I can see and I think it’s better now anyway so it’s all fine.

The Spurs boss on Kulusevski copying his team talk to speak to Sweden
It’s okay if they win. I wouldn’t be happy if he was using my words and they didn’t win. You kind of hope – it is not always the case – that when you talk, people listen. You hope you can make an impact, not just from a football perspective but from a life perspective. Sometimes they listen, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes there is probably a valid reason why they don’t listen because I can talk some garbage myself. If they can take away stuff that is positive, that’s great for me but more importantly shows me at least I am getting their attention most of the time.

Postecoglou on Ben Davies
Ben’s an outstanding character. I sensed that straight away in the way he carries himself, the way he thinks about the game, the way he thinks about his position in the game, the influence he can have. From my perspective, the more of those kind of guys you can have in a dressing room, it helps you make sure the standards and environment you want to create is going to be one to take us to another level. Ben’s certainly one of those. He’s been great whenever he’s played for us this year, obviously probably wanted to play a bit more but at the same time it’s testament to his character that when he has played he’s been ready to play. He trains the house down every day.

Postecoglou on Romero wanting to play at the Olympics
Yeah, look with all those things, the Olympics is a little bit of a different issue because clubs aren’t obliged to release players. Certainly as a club we’ll make sure there is a balance there. My advice would be with the Copa America and hopefully us gearing up for a big season, rest would be the better policy.

The Spurs boss on Richarlison
He is okay. Had a bit of a knee niggle and we’re managing him. Brazil managed him but he trained today and feels good.

Postecoglou on team news
All the internationals got through unscathed. They’ve come back all good. Micky was the one who missed the last game. He’s trained the last few days so he’s available.
