Georgia Travel Softball Head Coach Announces Exciting New Player Signings for 2025 Season

 

May 9, 2025 | Atlanta, GA — The Georgia Travel Softball program, a premier name in competitive youth softball in the Southeast, has taken a major step forward in building its future. Head Coach Miranda Collins announced today the signing of six standout players who will join the roster for the upcoming 2025 travel season.

Coach Collins, known for her strategic vision and player development expertise, held a press conference Friday morning to introduce the new recruits. With the goal of competing at the highest level nationally this summer, she described the signings as “a turning point in our team’s growth and a strong investment in the future of Georgia softball.”

 

“These players represent the heart of what we’re building—grit, intelligence, and elite athleticism,” Collins said. “We’re not just looking at the short-term. These signings are about creating a culture of excellence that will elevate our program for years to come.”

 

Meet the New Signees

 

The six new players come from across the state and beyond, each bringing unique skill sets to the team. The group includes a balance of pitching talent, power hitters, and strong defensive players—all of whom have already gained attention from collegiate scouts.

 

1. Ava Reynolds (Pitcher/1B, Class of 2026) – From Macon, GA, Reynolds is a dominant left-handed pitcher with a fastball consistently hitting 63 mph and a devastating curveball. Her 2024 high school season ended with a 0.98 ERA and 212 strikeouts. “Ava has the tools and mental toughness to shut down any lineup,” said Collins.

 

 

2. Jayla Thompson (Shortstop, Class of 2027) – Hailing from Chattanooga, TN, Jayla is a slick-fielding shortstop with lightning-quick reflexes and a cannon arm. She’s also a .400+ hitter and a threat on the basepaths. “Jayla brings energy and leadership beyond her years,” Collins noted.

 

 

3. Emerson “Emmy” Cruz (Catcher, Class of 2026) – A defensive stalwart from Savannah, Emmy Cruz has elite framing and pop-time skills. Her leadership behind the plate and strong bat make her a key addition. “We expect her to control the game from behind the dish,” said Collins.

 

 

4. Brianna Lewis (Outfielder, Class of 2025) – A speedy outfielder from Atlanta who covers immense ground in center field. Lewis also brings an aggressive baserunning style and a .390 batting average. “She can change the game with her speed,” Collins said.

 

 

5. Natalie Park (Utility, Class of 2026) – Natalie brings versatility, capable of playing both infield and outfield positions. From Athens, GA, Park is praised for her high softball IQ and consistent contact hitting. “She’s a coach’s dream—whatever you need, she delivers,” Collins added.

 

 

6. Mikayla Jordan (Pitcher/3B, Class of 2027) – From Birmingham, AL, Jordan is a dual-threat player known for her power at the plate and deceptive riseball in the circle. She hit 12 home runs last season and struck out over 100 batters. “She brings the fire and intensity we want in this program,” said Collins.

 

 

 

Looking Ahead to the 2025 Season

 

The Georgia Travel Softball program has grown in prominence in recent years, consistently earning top finishes in major tournaments across the country. With a competitive schedule lined up for summer 2025, including showcases in Florida, Texas, and Illinois, Coach Collins emphasized that this year is about taking the next step.

 

“We are committed to development, winning the right way, and preparing our athletes for collegiate success,” she said. “With this new group of players, I believe we’re building something truly special.”

The team will begin full-squad workouts later this month, with their first major tournament appearance scheduled for mid-June at the PGF Southeast Regional.
