It might be a tight battle for the title at the top of the Premier League, but things are just as tight down the bottom as five teams scrap for survival. The relegation situation is only made more complicated by Nottingham Forest’s points deduction – with an appeal looming and thus the potential that the Reds could have those points restored imminently.

Shay Given has had his say on the situation at the bottom of the Premier League table, with 16th-placed Nottingham Forest’s appeal after they had four points deducted yet to be heard.

That leaves the teams hanging

around the relegation zone unsure of quite where they stand, a situation that is far from ideal as the season motors towards its conclusion.
